New Drupal Site
I've changed from WordPress to Drupal in order to release a Drupal module for my phpGoogleStoreLocator app. It will now come a a standalone or a Drupal Module. The old forums are now locked. The new forums we will use are the built in Drupal forums. Your usernames and passwords have all been ported over to drupal so you dont have to register to login. Just enter your old forums username/password into the Drupal login box and you'll be all set to go in the new Forums. It is possible to port over the messages from the old forums, but its a lot of work and it really isnt necessary since I can just keep the old forums in a read only mode anyways.
Why did I do such a thing? Well for several reasons. The biggest being is that I am preparing to release phpGoogleStoreLocator as a Drupal plugin. The second reason is because phpBB is terrible with security. It may have a lot of features, but its poorly written and has bugs all through it. The capta for the registration has never been fixed and I totally ripped it out at the end. The third reason I dropped it was because I wanted something that integrates better into the site. It makes content portable to other areas of the site very easy. And the last reason is because, well who are we kidding, Drupal kicks Wordpress' ass all over the field.
